Despite  granite counter tops being popular and a highly opted choice of many homeowners, cleaning granite surfaces is still a dilemma. Granite surfaces are tough and there is good chance of easily staining it. There is possibility that one might scrape of its sealant or damage the surface if correct cleaning agents are not used.

It is always recommended to use cleaners which are specially made for granite surfaces.

For daily cleaning, you can either buy a cleaner from the market or make one at home by using soap and warm water and can be wiped with a soft cloth. Do not use harsh materials to clean your countertops as it can damage the surface.

Fill your sink or a small bucket with warm water. Add some mild liquid dish soap into the water. Mix it well. Also note that exact proportions are not required. The water should be soapy enough to clean.

Dunk the clean cloth in the soapy water. Rinse it out. And then wring it. You can use this technique to pick up crumbs off the counter, stains that appliances leave on the surfaces, any spills or sticky residues on the counter. In case the spill is glued to the surface, use hot water to wet the cloth and then scrub it off. Always scrub down your counters in circular motion.
